"Peripheral Neuropathy - FACTS" Peripheral neuropathy is a disorder of the peripheral nerves-the motor, sensory
and autonomic nerves that connect the spinal cord to muscles, skin and internal organs. It usually affects the feet/legs
and hands, causing weakness, numbness, tingling and chronic severe pain. Peripheral Neuropathy's course is variable; it can
come and go, slowly progressing over many years, or it can become severe and debilitating. However, if diagnosed early, it
can often be controlled
Our Mission
It is theintention/mission to establish support groups throughtout Australia with the view to establishing down the track
an Australian Neuropathy Association for education, support and research.

Neuropathy some causes are unknown, others are caused by *diabetes, *alcohol *(nutritional imbalances),*spinal surgery, *cancer
tumours and/or *chemotherapy, *autoimmune disorders HIV/AIDS, *rheumatoid arthritis, *prescription medications, and *toxins.
